Whether it’s as a Valentine’s Day celebration or just a mid-winter getaway, there are plenty of options for cruises departing from Galveston in February.

February Cruises on Royal Caribbean

Royal Caribbean offers 4, 5 and 7 day cruises from Texas in February. These western Caribbean cruises visit Mexico and Central America – the longer the cruise the further south you’ll go.

Four- and five-night cruises are on Adventure of the Seas. The 4-night voyages depart on Valentine’s Day and February 28th. They visit Cozumel, Mexico before heading back north.

Disney Wonder Headed for Dry Dock, Renovations

disney-wonder-bow-300The Orlando Sentinel reports that the Disney Wonder, which sails from Galveston in November and December, is headed to dry dock in September, where it will receive renovations. What those renovations will be are something of a mystery at this time.

The Disney Cruise Line announced the upcoming renovation at an April press event at Walt Disney World, but all they would say about the renovations was that they’ll “be making some very exciting enhancements to the Disney Wonder later this year.” Continue reading →

Carnival Magic – Last Chance to Sail from Galveston

carnival-cozumel-300The newly refurbished Carnival Magic (see our article about the ship’s recent updates) will be changing home ports soon. After the ship’s April 10th cruise from Galveston, the Magic will move to its new home at Port Canaveral.

There are still four opportunities to sail aboard the Carnival Magic from Galveston and some good deals are available. Inside cabin prices for some of these upcoming cruises are priced at under $500 and balcony cabins are available for a little over $700.
