Disney Wonder will be back in Galveston in November, offering cruises to the Bahamas and Western Caribbean from November 10, 2016 to January 20, 2017. The Bahamas cruises include visits to Key West, Castaway Cay (Disney’s private island) and Nassau. Western Caribbean voyages make stops in Cozumel, Grand Cayman, Jamaica and San Juan.

Disney Wonder Dry Dock Enhancements Announced
As we reported previously, the Disney Wonder is scheduled for a dry dock visit in September of this year, at which time the ship will undergo renovations.
A recent announcement from Disney Cruise Line stated that the renovations would include the Marvel Superhero Academy, where kids can train to be a superhero; the addition of Frozen Adventures, Club Disney Junior, and Andy’s room to the Oceaneer Club (for kids ages 3 – 12); a new southern-style restaurant called Tiana’s Place Restaurant; and a new After Hours adult district with an English pub, all-new night club, and a new model of the Cadillac Lounge. Disney Wonder Headed for Dry Dock, Renovations
The Orlando Sentinel reports that the Disney Wonder, which sails from Galveston in November and December, is headed to dry dock in September, where it will receive renovations. What those renovations will be are something of a mystery at this time.
The Disney Cruise Line announced the upcoming renovation at an April press event at Walt Disney World, but all they would say about the renovations was that they’ll “be making some very exciting enhancements to the Disney Wonder later this year.” Continue reading
Disney Holiday Season Cruises from Galveston
Disney Cruise Lines offers special “Very MerryTime” cruises during the holiday season and eight of these cruises are scheduled with departures from Galveston aboard the Disney Wonder.
The Very MerryTime cruises include special activities such as a Deck the Deck Holiday Tropical Party, Mickey’s Tree Lighting Magic Ceremony, Santa Claus Meet-and-Greet, holiday storytelling, youth parties, and more. The ship is decorated festively for the holiday and the Disney Characters are even dressed in holiday attire. Continue reading
